A slightly different MNUFC game coverage setup for the Star Tribune
We're trying something different, and I'm curious what you think.
I tried something a little different for last night's MNUFC coverage, for the Star Tribune.
The game story is a traditional gamer, but a bit shorter. And then postgame, I went a little bit deeper with a longer analysis piece, that only went on the web - a little bit column, a little bit notebook.
I think my hope is that I can use the extra space that the web provides to do something a little more in-depth than I'd be able to manage in the limited print space. Anyway, I would love it if you read both, and let me know what you think.
I love your longform work, Jon (and have since Twinkie Town), so I dig the longer analysis piece. I know some folks "only want the details" with a short gamer, so I think they work out well!
Nice write ups. I think Bacharach has a lot of raw talent, just has to be careful as the current formation is not going to be very forgiving if he strays too far up the field.
I’m fairly certain Trapp’s ball was not a goal, but the issue could have been avoided altogether if he kept running after it and slammed it home himself instead of letting up.
